Grown in the Nilgiri mountains of southern India, this tea traces its lineage back to China, as opposed to India's native Assam variety. This heritage, along with its high altitude planting and winter harvest, accounts for its fruity and floral characteristics.
Named after this unique growing region - “Nilgiri” comes from the Tamil words neelam (blue) and giri (mountain) - Blue Mountain Black showcases the best of what these teas have to offer: both light and full-bodied, with notes of blueberry, dried fig, and tobacco.
